São Paulo Chapter first met in 2008.
The goal of our chapter is to make friends who will help each other through their job searches and careers. We welcome all current and prospective members to our meetings.

+55 (11) 5083 4217 - John S. Koutras has over 25 years of financial officer experience in Brazilian subsidiaries of foreign multinationals and local firms. He has significant experience in several areas, such as Finance, Operations and Marketing, as well as in General Management. Specializes in turnaround processes, mergers and acquisitions, debt restructuring, competitive analysis, financing, working capital maximization, organizational restructuring and strategic planning. He is the Managing Partner of Pharos Advisors in Sao Paulo which specializes in providing financial and operational expertise to Brazilian assets.
Recently he led a turnaround and debt restructuring effort as the Chief Executive & Restructuring Officer of Zanini Industria, a capital goods company in the sugar and ethanol equipment manufacturing sector. Involved in various industries such as auto parts, energy distribution, petroleum and consumer products. He has held C-Level positions in companies such as Mangels, Clean Energy Brazil, CMS Energy, Sherwin-Williams, DIAGEO Latin America, Quaker Oats and ExxonMobil.
Mr. Koutras earned a bachelor's degree in Administration and in Economics from the City College - CUNY and holds an MBA degree in International Business from the Baruch College - CUNY. In addition, he has attended the Wharton School and Columbia Business School for executive education courses and is fluent in English, Portuguese and Greek. He is an active member of the local Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the Brazilian Corporate Governance Institute (IBGC).
