Hello Hugh,
I have recently assumed Controllership for a company that signed a contract with FinancialForce one year ago. Project not off the ground one year later and I am looking for insight into the system while simultaneously trying to renegotiate the licensing contract.
Would appreciate hearing about your experience with the company and product.
thank you,

I had a somewhat odd situation with FF in that I signed a contract for the software and got about one month into the implementation when I was informed that my board decided to outsource the entire accounting/financial department. Sigh.
Anyway, I found the people at FF to be very good and helpful. The only speed bump was that while the implementation department would give me an estimate on how much the conversion (from QB) would cost, they refused to put a cap on it. Sort of like handing them a blank check. There were some "intense" discussions over this, but we finally got something worked out.
In terms of the software itself, it's quite good, but the one drawback is that it's a flat system. In other words, you can't close AP and keep AR or GL open. Everything has to be on the same closing schedule. On the plus side, it was deveoped and is owned by Salesforce, so obviously the intereactions between the two systems is quite easy and good. It's probably the cheapest mid-range system out there. Overall, if I were going to do it again, I would probably go with Intact.
Hope this helps,
John

I find both of your commments disappointing in terms of the high hopes I had for FF. When I posted the question several years ago, I was in the midst of a large project related to SalesForce. I was intregged by possiblities of FF being written in native "SF" code. My practice has moved away from SF and I back to helping CFO's find software with other providers.
