I am seeking some assistance. I am in the midst of hopefully landing a consulting assignment that could evolve into a permanent position (i.e. a landing). The company is a real estate investment company and they need a CFO. I am seeking to fulfill this position.
The role contains both traditional duties, but the organization is small and lacks structure. They have grown organically over time with many varied interests and are also lacking defined job descriptions policies and procedures.
As part of the courting process, they have asked me to provide them with a 30, 60 and 90 plans. I am hoping someone has a template or an example that might provide me with some guidance.
Any assistance in this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Todd Rodenberg

Hi Todd,
I am in the midst of a contract to perm (hopefully) situation currently with a small medical device start-up. My background is in manufacturing and not real estate, so my experience may or may not be applicable to your situation. One of my more useful accomplishments during my "active" status (between jobs) was to read The First 90 Days by Michael Watkins. I found his book to be very straight forward, easy to read and practical. After I finished the book I developed a 90 day plan for myself in a Word document, which I would be happy to share. The plan is more focused on what you should do as an individual coming in from the outside than it is on exactly what the business should do in the next 90 days, so it may not work for you in your situation, but it is free for the asking. Time permitting, I would highly recommend the book as well. Feel free to look up my profile on the FENG and contact me at your convenience.
Regards,
Clyde Lyon

I immensely appreciate you taking the time to respond and your offer. Since the CEO wants it by Monday, I am under some pressure and will not have the opportunity to read the book you (and a couple of others) have suggested at this juncture. Therefore, I would be tremendously grateful if you would send me the one you prepared.
I understand it is more introspectively focused. However, there might be some steps I want the CEO to see I will be doing, especially given I am walking into an unstructured business and one of my main functions will be to implement some in a thoughtful manner that does not upset the very successful general business model of the company.
Thanks So Much,
Todd Rodenberg
